Pre-VelaShape™ Treatment

Prior to your first VelaShape treatment, we will schedule a consultation for you with an American Laser Skincare professional who will take a complete medical history, including measurements, outline a custom treatment plan and answer all of your questions. Our skincare professionals will also provide an in-depth explanation and present your cellulite treatment options.


Preparation

For best results it is important to stay away from indoor, outdoor or sunless tanning and to use sun block with SPF 60 or higher throughout the course of treatment. We also recommend using VIVITÉ^® Firming Lotion to enhance cellulite reduction results. Clean, dry, exfoliated skin, free of creams, lotions and perfume is best suited for treatment. You may be asked to trim long or course hair that may hinder the movement of the applicator.

VelaShape Treatment

The FDA-cleared cellulite treatment, VelaShape, is safe and effective for all skin types and colors. The combination of radiofrequency, infrared light energy with vacuum and mechanical massage, increases the metabolism of stored energy, increases lymphatic drainage and reduces or shrinks the size of the actual fat cells and fat chambers. A program of one cellulite treatment per month is recommended to maintain results, coupled with lots of water, regular exercise and a balanced diet to optimize them.


Treatment Time (Duration of Treatment)

Generally a cellulite reduction session lasts 30-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.


What Does VelaShape Feel Like? 

Most clients find cellulite reduction comfortable – like a warm deep-tissue massage and report that the VelaShape treatment is actually pleasant. It is normal to experience a warming sensation for a few hours after cellulite treatments, and for your skin to appear pinker than usual, but you can resume normal activities immediately.


Post-VelaShape Treatment

After each cellulite treatment, the area may feel like it is mildly sunburned and you may have pinkness, mild tingling and feel a warm sensation. It is important to use sun block with SPF 60 or higher during the course of VelaShape treatments and for 2-3 days following treatment you will want to avoid using bleaching cream.
