Pre-JUVÉDERM® Treatment
Prior to your first treatment, we will schedule a consultation for you with an American Laser Skincare professional who will take a medical history, review the treatment options, outcome expectations and answer all of your questions. Our skincare professionals will also provide an in-depth explanation of JUVÉDERM®.
Preparation
No advanced preparation is necessary for JUVÉDERM® treatments; however you may need to refrain from taking some medications and supplements for a few days prior to the procedure.

JUVÉDERM® Treatment
JUVÉDERM® is a smooth gel made of hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. This cutting-edge dermal filler helps to instantly restore your skin’s volume and smooth away facial wrinkles and folds like your “smile lines” or “parentheses.” It is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that is proven to be safe and effective and results can last up to one year.
Before beginning treatment, a medical professional will evaluate your facial muscles in order to determine the severity of the folds and rhytids, and pre-treatment photographs are taken in order to provide you with a demonstration of the depths of folds and wrinkles prior to the JUVÉDERM® treatment. During this analysis, our medical professional will help you decide whether JUVÉDERM® Ultra or JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus may be appropriate for your procedure. JUVÉDERM® Ultra is used for mid-to-deep dermal injections for the correction of moderate facial wrinkles and folds, such as lips and nasolabial folds (the creases that run from the bottom of your nose to the corners of your mouth). JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus is used for deep dermis to superficial subcutis injections, or the correction of severe facial folds and wrinkles.
Treatment Time (Duration of Treatment)
The JUVÉDERM® injection process only takes about 15 minutes and results are immediate.
What Does JUVÉDERM® Feel Like?
Injections may cause some discomfort during and after the treatment. In order to reduce injection discomfort JUVÉDERM® is injected directly into the skin using a fine needle. Most JUVÉDERM® side effects are mild or moderate in nature and their duration is short lasting.
Post-JUVÉDERM® Treatment
Post-JUVÉDERM® treatment, the intermittent use of a cold pack is recommended in order to prevent swelling of the injected areas.

Post-RADIESSE® treatment, the intermittent use of a cold pack is recommended in order to prevent swelling of the injected areas. Most American Laser Skincare clients experience little to no downtime and return to normal activities almost immediately after each RADIESSE® treatment.
