Laser Hair Removal

According to 2003 American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) research, laser hair removal is the second leading nonsurgical procedure performed in the country. In response to client demand, American Laser Centers is continually updating and improving its laser hair removal technology so that our advanced, FDA-Approved laser hair removal system delivers an unprecedented combination of safety, comfort and effectiveness.

American Laser Centers offers industry leading medical aesthetic technology that uses combined energies to effectively and gently remove hair of many colors and types from all skin tones. Regarded as the most effective energy-based laser hair removal treatments available, this advanced system combines pulsed, high-intensity light, combined with safe Radio-Frequency (RF) therapy. An actively-cooled treatment head helps to soothe and protect your upper skin layer, while the pulsed light and RF energy gently work together to disable active hair follicles.

When combined with our proprietary Laser Hair Removal Protocol, which takes into account a variety of individual client characteristics such as skin and hair color, body chemistry and even genetic makeup, our laser hair removal system sets industry standards. The energy-based technology combined with our Hair Removal Protocol makes laser hair removal a safe and effective option for people with darker skin tones or lighter hair colors, which pose a challenge for laser-only systems. Even blonde, gray and red hairs, traditionally the most difficult to treat using laser-only systems, are suppressed by our advanced systems.

Understanding Hair Growth
Anagen stage. Active growth phase 2-6 years. Catagen stage. Transition phase 1-2 weeks. Telogen stage. Resting phase 5-6 weeks.

The hair follicle’s active growth phase is called anagen. During this phase, the hair contains an abundance of melanin.

Catagen is the regression phase when the lower part of the hair stops growing but is not shed and the follicle is reabsorbed.

The resting phase is called telogen, during which the old hair falls out in preparation for the development of new hair.

Hair follicles grow and regrow in a cycle, and even the most sophisticated removal treatments can only disable those follicles that are active at the time of treatment. For complete hair removal, treatments must be repeated six times at four to six week intervals for facial hair, eight to ten weeks for body hair and ten to twelve weeks for leg hair, systematically disabling the follicles as they go into their active phase.
